History
Inside 1896, the Salford Working Mens' College merged with Pendleton Mechanics Institute to become the Salford Technical Institute. Upon a grant of Royal Assent, it became the Royal Technical Institute, Salford. Around 1921 a Royal Technical indicator Institute was renamed the Royal Technical College, Salford, and in 1958 this institution split in to 2 area — a Royal College of Advanced Technology and Peel Park Technical College.
A Royal College became a University of Salford within 1967, whilst a Technical indicator indicator College changed its title to Salford Technical Institute (1961), Salford College of Technology (1970), and then University College, Salford (1992).
Them institutions, a University of Salford & University College, Salford merged around 1996, retaining the title University of Salford.
